Genetic Parameters and Genotype–Environment Interactions in Paulownia Clonal Tests in Temperate and Subtropical Regions of China

Clonal forestry has developed rapidly in recent years and already plays a significant role commercial tree plantations worldwide. breeding requires accurate assessments of genetic parameters, together with measurements clonal productivity, stability, adaptably. However, relevant studies for clones Paulownia spp. genotypes are rare. We therefore conducted tests on twenty established at three sites the temperate subtropical regions China. Trees were planted randomized block design, four replications each site, plots block, six to eight individuals same clone plot. measured trunk diameter breast height (DBH), total (Ht), individual stand volume 7-year-old trees estimate parameters analyze genotype–environment interactions. A combined analysis variance indicated that clonal, clone–site interactions significantly affected growth traits. heritability 0.35–0.84 0.07–0.30, respectively. The phenotypic correlation coefficients among traits 0.46–0.93 0.85–0.99, There extremely positive linear relationships between best unbiased predictors DBH original values (R2 > 0.98). Clones 10, 2, 18, 13 selected deployment based selection intensity 1.4, GGE biplots, relative performance harmonic means genotypic analysis. For these clones, gains DBH, Ht, 18.05%, 21.46%, 46.03%, These results provide useful information target will sound basis improving programs future.
